In this workshop, you will:
1.) Recognize the benefits of Art Therapy in trauma treatment, crisis intervention and working with clients with dissociative disorders
2.) Explore creative techniques that can promote a client's sense of safety, self, empowerment, awareness and resolution of core issues
3.) Increase the comfort of both the clinician and the client in the use of creative interventions

*Optional art experiential theme will be provided in advance, with option to share during the event. No art experience necessary.

PRESENTER'S BRIEF BIO

Hope Carter, LPCC, LPC, ATR-BC

Hope Carter studied at Eastern Virginia Medical School & began as an Art Therapist & clinical counselor in the U.S. about 20 years ago. She has worked in many settings including shelters, medical, behavioral health & VA hospitals, Hospice Volunteers, eating disorder & sexual addiction programs. She found working with trauma survivors at these & specialty trauma programs particularly rewarding.
