Title: The Art of Non-Violence: Finding Refuge and Sanctuary in the Midst of Change and Political Unrest

In considering nonviolence as a backdrop to massive global paradigm shifts, how can we reframe the seemingly impossible act of “holding” in our work? We will investigate the idea of refuge as collective self-care and a means to preserve both individual and collective memory.

Exemplars of non-violence
1. art/ an object/ photograph of a person you know
2. art/ an object/ photograph of an author/ influencer/ public figure
3. art/ an object/ photograph of animal/ vegetable/ mineral

PRESENTER'S BRIEF BIO導師簡介

 

Suellen Semekoski

 

Adjunct Associate Professor in Art Therapy at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA, Registered/ Board Certified  Art Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in private practice. Suellen has done extensive work with war veterans and continue to actively participate in art and peace initiatives around the globe. Suellen was published in Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association; Journal of Feminist Family Therapy.

美國芝加哥藝術學院藝術治療學系兼職副教授，美國藝術治療證照委員會認證的註冊藝術治療師，認證臨床專業顧問。 Suellen與退伍軍人進行了廣泛的合作，並持續積極參與全球的藝術與和平倡議。 Suellen曾被<<藝術治療：美國藝術療法協會期刊>>以及<<女性主義家庭治療期刊>>發表。
